#WWHL

I’m so excited to finally get around to writing about WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE!

Last month, I flew to New York to meet up with a friend. We were really just supposed to eat, drink, maybe shop…the usual NYC antics. However I remembered that WWHL would be taping that Sunday. It’s every Bravo fans dream to go to a taping! We thought it would be impossible to get invited but somehow, after some research, we did!

The taping was scheduled for around 9 i believe. We had to be there about an hour beforehand to mix and mingle with the other Bravo fans. It’s taped in a very discreet location. It’s in an office building - one you would never guess the popular talk show would be held.

When we arrived, we had to check in with security. We took the elevator up to the clubhouse lobby. When the elevators opened - it was soooo cool. There’s a mini bar and bravo shows on all the TVs. It’s open bar (what!?) and all of the staff members are just incredibly friendly.

WWHL is a very intimate show - there’s only like 20 people in the audience! After mingling, staff members line everyone up to enter the actual clubhouse. There are three rows of seats and we were seated in the middle of the second row.

The guests that night were Porsha Williams and Tanya Sam from Real Housewives of Atlanta. We couldn’t have been luckier! We both love RHOA and having Porsha there was just amazing.

The show flew by. It was a very casual, relaxed atmosphere. During the breaks, Andy Cohen would come talk to the audience. He took questions and really tried to make sure everyone had a good time.

After the taping, we met Tanya, Posha and Porsha’s sister Lauren.

It was so much fun and I hope to go back again and again and again.

February 24, 2020

Good Monday morning friends,

I believe it has been over a year since my last update. So what’s new? Well - nothing and everything, right? I am still working as a television reporter. I am still dating Gary. Things are well. Thank God.

I’m working on myself in 2020. Now, perhaps more than ever, I’m feeling pulled to bet on myself. I’m not exactly sure what that looks like. I’m contemplating different media avenues; YouTube, podcast, etc. My industry is rapidly evolving and I need to adjust.

Taking a leap of faith is HARD. It’s uncomfortable as well. I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to do it - but I’m praying for clarity and bravery.

Meantime - here’s me yesterday. Gary got a new toy. He’s been tinkering with it nonstop but he found time to take it out for some pictures yesterday.

Happy New Year

Hey friends! Happy 2019.

I am in bed right now and just started MITT on Netflix. (I’ve seen it before, just re-watching because why not). I was actually home sick today because of a stomach bug or something I got yesterday. I’m feeling better tonight and thought I would write a little. I also want to plug FLINT TOWN on Netflix. I was able to watch the docuseries over the past few days and it is really enlightening. It’s not about the Flint water crisis but about the city’s underfunded police department.

Okay now - 2019! Is it really here? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was in CHAR in Inman Park counting down to 2018. What a year it has been. As usual, there were highs and lows. I was fortunate to travel to Quebec City, Aruba, Asheville and Phoenix. I hosted a number of events. I grew in my position at work. Even through the stresses and lows, I feel very fortunate. I am always grateful to the Lord for all my blessings. Perhaps it’s because I work in news … but my blessings are not lost on me. I take none of them for granted.

For NYE - Gary and I went to a restaurant with a friend and her husband. It was like 65 degrees or something so I wore an itty-bitty dress that I got at a new boutique in Buckhead.

My parents stopped by on their way downtown.

And here’s a picture from King + Duke.

I haven’t made any real goals for 2019. Of course there’s the usual…I want to lose a little weight, I want to be better with my finances, I want to spend more time reading my Bible.

As I get older, I realize it’s more important to spend more quality time with loved ones, travel, be intentional, give, make memories with friends…

I will try to do all of the above. I will fall short but I hope that I can grow as a person and be a light in this very dim world.

Happy New Year!
